Syrian al-Masdar news confirms Jordanian Commandos' Mission to Rescue Downed Pilot in Ar-Raqqa on 1/1/15

We had hinted that it was probably a Jordanian attempt to free pilot

Jordanian Air Force utilized Turkish airspace to launch this airborne mission and was based on Turkish Military Intelligence.

Al-Masdar News is reporting that on Thursday night, 1/1/15, it was Jordanian commandos who attempted an airborne mission in Ar-Raqqa in order to rescue the captured Jordanian Air Force pilot, Mou’az Al-Kasassbeh from (ISIS).

The rescue attempt was unsuccessful, as the aircraft carrying the commandos was unable to withstand the barrage of bullets, resulting in their immediate evacuation. According to a source in Turkey, the Jordanian Air Force utilized Turkish airspace to launch this airborne mission; however, the operation was poorly planned and based on Turkish Military Intelligence information.

The Jordanian Government is working on the release of the downed pilot, but they have been unsuccessful thus far. It is believed that ISIS has offered to release the down pilot in exchange for the release of a number of ISIS prisoners in Jordanian prisons.
