Leonardo has flown its M-345HET jet trainer on Dec. 29. The aircraft took to the air from Venegono Superiore airfield with Quirino Bucci and Giacomo Iannelli at the controls.

NAS Patuxent River (February 5, 2016) An Italian Air Force (Aeronautica Militare) KC-767 aerial refueling tanker lands at Naval Air Station (NAS) Patuxent River, Md., on Feb. 5. The tanker had refueled an Italian Air Force F-35A Lightning II aircraft during a two-phase, 11-hour deployment across the North Atlantic from Cameri Air Base, Italy to NAS Patuxent River. The next generation stealth F-35 jet, known as aircraft AL-1, landed in the history books as it completed the very first F-35 trans-Atlantic Ocean crossing. Italy deploys 4 AMX and 1 Predator to Sicily




The Italian Air Force has deployed four AMX fighters to Trapani airport, Sicily over concerns with the situation in Libya. The fighters are backup by a Predator drone.

Last two RQ-1s for Italian Air Force delivered

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems has delivered the final two RQ-1 unmanned aerial vehicles to the Italian Air Force. The delivery also marked an end to the Predator A production line.
