Myanmar Interested in Russian Unmanned Ground Vehicle




Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, currently in the Russian Federation, accompanied by Lt-Gen Soe Htut and senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and Myanmar Military Attaché to the Russian Federation Brig-Gen Nyunt Swe, visited No 766 Production and Technological Equipment Center at 4.20 local standard time on 20 June, and was welcomed by Deputy Director-General Mr. Khlebtikov Evgeny.

First, the Senior General and party viewed round ambulances, operation theatre vehicles, laboratory treatment vehicles and cars at the Production and Technological Equipment Center. Officials conducted them round the center.

Next, they viewed remote-controlled mine clearance vehicles, combat vehicles and fire trucks and observed test driving. After viewing armoured vehicles, they rode them.Officials explained salient points.

Yak-130 has been delivered to Myanmar




FSMTC deputy director Mikhail Petukhov told Sputnik at the sidelines of Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition that Russia has completed the delivery of the first batch of Yak-130 to Myanmar.

Myanmar Receives Its First Three Yak 130




After making their first flights in November 2016 in Russia, Myanmar officially receives its first three Yakovlev Yak 130 advanced training aircraft.

A ceremony organized on the spot shows the devices in a blue livery and carrying their definitive registration 1801-1802-1803.

The number of Yak 130 ordered by Myanmar is not known, the initial contract for the first 3 units was signed in June 2015.

The Yak 130 is a lightweight advanced training fighter, which features Air-to-Air and Air-to-Ground capabilities with the ability to fire intelligent ammunition. It was adopted by the Algerian, Russian, Belarusian and Bangladeshi air forces.

Strong international competition exists in the field of advanced training aircraft, especially with the launch of the American TX trainer program, for the replacement of the T38 and which oppose the Leonardo M346, the AirlandTextron Scorpion, the KAI T50 Golden Eagle and the Boeing/Saab TX.

Myanmar wants to Purchase More Ukrainian BTR-3U




The armament of the forces of Myanmar are interested in continuing cooperation with Ukraine in the sphere of production of modern wheeled armored vehicles. This became known reporters portal  military-informant.com .

Myanmar expects to buy even more Ukrainian armored personnel carriers, which proved themselves during the border crisis with China in early 2015.

As is known, Myanmar was one of the buyers of new Ukrainian BTR-3U, when concluded in 2003, the first contract for the supply of ten wheeled combat vehicles. Upon receipt of the first experimental batch it was decided about the licensed production of the kits supplied from Ukraine directly at the territory of Myanmar.

According to unconfirmed information, at the moment in Myanmar it produced about 50 armored vehicles with an option for the same. It is worth noting that part of the combat vehicles BTR-3U is equipped protivokumulyativnymi screens.

BTR-3 - a modern Ukrainian armored personnel carrier designed Kharkiv Machine Building Design Bureau named after Morozov. It is a further development of the design of the BTR-80.

BTR-3 became a hit Ukrainian defense industry and exported to many countries, including Thailand, Azerbaijan, Nigeria, UAE, Sudan, Chad , and is designed to transport personnel of mechanized infantry units and fire support in combat. APC is used to equip the units are able to conduct operations in a variety of conditions, including the conditions of use of the enemy weapons of mass destruction.
