Vietnam Interest in T38 Stiletto Air Defense System

This Belarusian defense enterprise is our close partner. In addition to the S-125-2TM modernization package, Tetraedr has continued to cooperate with Vietnam to upgrade many weapons systems under Soviet rule.

Besides, it's possible that your side will also be offering us new advanced defense units built by Tetraedr. The T38 Stiletto mobile low-altitude air defense system developed by Tetraedr is the ultimate solution for low-level defense combat. This is a closed-loop weaponry designed to protect important ground targets against enemy air attacks.

T38 Stiletto eliminates the most advanced hi-tech guided missiles at medium and low altitudes with a radar reflective area (RCS) of only 0.03 m2, which independently performs the specified operation. Target, move, pause as well as rocket attacks after a short pause or from a fixed position.

Tetraedr equips T38 with state-of-the-art digital hardware, including radar, computer-controlled firepower, and rocket guidance on a highly automated platform.

Components of the T38 Stiletto system include the TARG (TELAR), T383, T384, and T385.

The most important of these is the TELAR T381, mounted on the MZTK-69222T truck chassis, which carries eight missiles with four launchers on each side and a central fire control radar assisted by a photoelectric device. . Inside the car is an advanced navigation map, communication system, power supply and life support systems.

According to Tetraedr, the T38 has an effective target range of 20 km, which can strike at speeds of up to 900 m / s and a range of 25 to 10,000 m. Two-stage T382 solid-fuel missile with a speed of 850 m / s, withstand overload of up to 25G, with a heavy duty 18 kg warhead with special detonators.

Vietnam Built Mi-8 Simulation Cockpit

The Mi-8 helicopter flight training system is currently being equipped for a number of PK-KQ units, including the 930th Regiment (Division 372).

The screen shots show the simulation parameters of the training system. With multiple displays and software support, training officers and pilots can easily customize the display, allowing you to display the parameters as you like.

The simulated flight simulator also uses a joystick similar to a real-life helicopter. With this simulation system, the training officers can construct a hypothetical scenario where several aircraft parts are experiencing trouble so that students and pilots can learn how to cope with the problem while flying.

Flight simulators can help trainers assess the capabilities of trainees and pilots before they can perform training exercises well on real Mi-8 helicopters.

The Mi-8 is a legendary helicopter design developed by the Mil Moscow (Soviet Union) in the 1960s, manufactured directly by today's two factories, Kazan and Ulan-Ude. This is considered one of the most production helicopters in the world (more than 17,000), most commonly used (in about 80 countries, territories).

The Mi-8 multi-purpose transport helicopter has been in service with the Vietnam People's Air Force since 1973. It has served effectively in the final stages of the American war, and especially in the border war. South Korea 1978-1979, campaigns to help Cambodian people escape genocide.

Mi-8 is still one of the main helicopters of the Vietnam Air Force, doing many tasks from transport, fighting to search rescue and rescue. The picture is a Mi-8 of the 930th Helicopter Regiment.

The 930th Infantry Division (372th Division) was tasked with reconnaissance and military transport in the Central Highlands and the southern part of the Gulf of Tonkin. In addition, the regiment also has a flying role in serving high-level leaders, training officers, participating in disaster search and combat operations.

The 930 is currently equipped with many modern aircraft, but the Mi-8/17 helicopters are capable of a variety of missions including combat.

Vietnam's CSB 8020 Ready to Return Home

On the foreign military sites appeared latest pictures of Vietnamese CSB 8020 ship at the time of the day 04.10.2017.

Currently, Vietnam CSB 8020 and its crew are being trained in Honolulu in the Hawaiian Islands of America. Recently, the ship has welcomed Vietnamese Ambassador to the  US Pham Quang Vinh.

The panoramic image of the CSB 8020 did not appear during the visit, but a clear picture of it was made on October 4, 2017.

Looking outside, the ship was brought a new coat of paint, indicating that the repair process was completed, preparing to self-journey back to Vietnam. If that is the case then we will officially receive the train at the end of this year as expected.

Another noteworthy detail is that the number of the ship is only 20, not 8020 as the original information.

CSB 8020 is a Hamilton class patrol vessel, the WHC 722, which is based at the Avondale Plant, and was officially commissioned on March 10, 1969, and has just retired on April 18, 1977.

The ship has a full load stretch of 3,250 tons; length 115 m; width of 13 m; draft of 4.6 m; 160 crew members (including 20 officers and 140 crew members).

The vessel is equipped with a combined propulsion system consisting of two diesel engines and two gas turbine engines, giving a maximum speed of 29 knots (53.7 km / h), a range of 14,000 nautical miles (22,531 km ), continuous time of 45 days.

The original ship's weaponry included the AN/SPS-40 airborne radar guns, the 76.2 mm Oto Breda gunboat, the 20 mm Phalanx CIWS, the M242 Bushmaster size 25 mm, 12.7 mm M2 Browning machine gun and 7.62 mm M240 light machine gun.

However, based on the above image, only the only gunboat Oto Breda along with the fire control radar was retained.

It is expected that after the WHEC 722, Vietnam Coast Guard can receive some more Hamilton class patrol boats from the US Coast Guard.

Simple Upgrades Bring Strength to Vietnam's PT-76

The PT-76 light tank of Vietnam with a laser rangefinder attached to the main gun (photo : BaoDatViet)

PT-76 amphibious tanks are still in great numbers in the armored and armored units as well as naval forces in Vietnam.

Although still believed and used in a good way, the PT-76 is unlikely to meet all the requirements of the war. Modern in terms of mobility, level of protection, and especially firepower, so the need for upgrades has become imperative.

As the manufacturer's position, the Russian defense industry has made several modifications to the PT-76 light tank modernization, focusing on replacing the 76 mm D-56T main gun mm by 57 mm automatic cannon.

One of the most believable designs is the AU-220M Turret, thanks to the modular construction that easily integrates into the PT-76 chassis while not having to change the layout too much.

But another issue that arises with the AU-220M turret is that its cost is greater than the tank itself, which does not take advantage of the 76 mm bullets that are still present in the repositories. Moreover, the maneuverability and protection of the armor has not changed.

Similar equipment has been deployed on the T-55M3 main battle tank upgrade package of Vietnam (photo : BaoDatViet)

Due to the end of life, prepared to be replaced by a more modern one, so in the next few steps, it should be possible to upgrade slightly so that the PT-76 can better meet the requirements of the task.

The simplest solution was to equip the PT-76 with a "box" similar to that of the upgraded T-54/55 tank, camera in the car.

The simple, inexpensive way to take advantage of the survivability of 76 mm mortars while providing outstanding combat capability for the PT-76.

More importantly, the device is Vietnam's master of production technology, will save a lot of foreign currency compared to buying from abroad, and we also own the process of upgrading 100%, thereby keeping The absolute secret of the effect.
