Ukraine Air Force Mi 24 Attack/Transport helicopter
Ukraine said that pro-Russian rebels shot down a Ukrainian air force helicopter near the eastern city of Lugansk this week, killing the two-member crew. The Mi-24 helicopter was shot down on Wednesday south of Lugansk, said security spokesman Andriy Lysenko, the same day a Ukrainian war plane was downed near the city.
The incident took place just hours after pro-Russian separatists on Monday night announced a ceasefire until June 27 to match a week-long truce by government forces which has been ordered by Ukraine's president, Petro Poroshenko
