At least 21 terrorists and eight soldiers have been killed during a major clearance operation in a restive part of Khyber Agency, where an operation Khyber-I, has been under way since early October.

“Twenty-one terrorists were killed and several others injured during a major clearance operation in the Spin Qamar area of Khyber Agency by security forces on Wednesday,” the Inter-Services Public Relations said. DG ISPR Maj Gen Asim Bajwa told reporters that more than 1,100 terrorists were killed during Zarb-i-Azb and 44 others during Khyber-I operation. However, he once again declined to give a timeframe for the end of the operations underway in North Waziristan and Khyber, saying these would continue in the two tribal regions until the areas were cleared.

Army chief Gen Raheel Sharif attended the funeral of the deceased soldiers held in Peshawar garrison.
