Iranian border guards again fire mortars into Pakistan

The latest attack came two days after a meeting between Inspector General Frontier Corps Major General Ejaz Shahid and Iranian Border Police Chief General Qasim Razai in Tehran.



Iranian border guards fired at least six mortar shells into Pakistani territory in the early hours of Friday. However, no loss of life was reported in the explosions.

“Iranian border guards fired four mortars at 4:00am on Friday which landed and exploded in open areas in Mashkail,” Assistant Commissioner Mashkail Asghar Syapad told .The explosions rocked the Mashkail town and startled locals. However, the back-to-back explosions did not claim any lives and has caused no damage to property said the commissioner.Security forces and Levies personnel have arrived at the site of the explosions.In retaliation, Pakistani security forces fired two mortar shells towards the Iranian border, sources said. However, there have been no reports of mortar attacks in Iran.
