December 22 2004 was milestone for the Rafale program of the French Air Force
On that day after many postponements and reschedulings, the Rafale No. 304 landed at Mont-de-Marsan air base. This is the first Rafale delivered to the French Air Force. The young Rafale B304, with its pristine paint and new smell was escorted in its flight by old aircrafts of the French Air Force Mirage F1, Mirage 2000-5 and Mirage 2000D.
It was soon followed followed by Nos. 305 and Nos. 303 B respectively delivered on 28 and 29 December 2004. From 2004 to 2019 a total of 94 Type B and C version aircraft will be delivered to the French Air Force.
