The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) has successfully tested one of the two new airbus helicopters – H145 light twin engine helicopter – from Germany at the Villamor Air Base on Tuesday, 04 February 2020.
H145 is a 4-tonne-class twin-engine helicopter equipped with high frequency radios, emergency flotation gear, fast roping, cargo sling, search light, and electro-optical systems to perform critical missions including search and rescue, medical evacuation, maritime patrol, and maritime law enforcement.
The procurement of said aerial assets is part of the PCG’s Light to Medium Multi-Purpose Twin Engine Helicopter Acquisition Project.
The PCG personnel who will man the newest helicopters have finished their comprehensive training in Germany last year.
