Philippine Navy’s Naval Air Wing Expands Its Hangar with Capacity of 7 Naval Air Assets

 

The Philippine Navy’s Naval Air Wing conducted a ground-breaking ceremony marking the commencement of construction of its Hangar Number 4 at Headquarters Naval Air Wing, Naval Base Heracleo Alano on June 28, 2021.

The ceremony was attended by Naval Combat Engineering Brigade commander Commodore Alfonspin Tumanda Jr., Naval Air Wing commander Commodore Karl Decapia, and Philippine Fleet commander Rear Admiral Alberto Carlos.According to Philippine Fleet, “the Construction of Hangar Number 4 at Headquarters, Naval Air Wing will cover a floor area of 945 square meters.”

“When completed, Hangar Number 4 can accommodate up to seven (7) naval air assets, such as the Beechcraft C-12 Huron, Multipurpose Amphibian Aircraft as well as the medium and heavy lift helicopters. The construction of Hangar Number 4 will also support the maintenance and repair requirements of our future air assets,” it added.
