This day in 1942, Allied forces launched Operation Jubilee, a raid on the port of Dieppe.

The raid ended in a disaster. None of the objectives were met, Allies suffered heavy casualties, especially the Canadian troops, 3,367 were killed, wounded or taken prisoner. #WW2 pic.twitter.com/xrbBLA3uOC
