Kazakhstan received five S-300PS air defense systems for free
Russia has donated five S-300PS air defense systems to Kazakhstan. The systems were delivered by railway to the Zhetysu station near Almaty.

Russian Helicopters delivers multirole Mi-8AMT helicopter to Kazakhstan
Russian Helicopters (a subsidiary of Oboronprom, part of Russian State Corporation Rostec) has delivered a multirole Mi-8AMT helicopter to the Almaty City Rescue Service, Akimat Almaty, Kazakhstan. “The delivery of the Mi-8AMT to the Almaty City Rescue Service represents another important step in the continued development of Russia-Kazakhstan cooperation in the operation of Russian helicopter technology,” Russian Helicopters’ Deputy CEO for Sales and Marketing Grigory Kozlov said.

Kazakhstan Ratifies Joint Air Defense Shield Deal with Russia
Kazakhstan’s upper house of parliament ratified Thursday an agreement with Russia on establishing a joint regional air defense shield, a Novosti-Kazakhstan correspondent has reported.The shield will become part of the unified air defense system of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), a loose alliance of former Soviet states, comprising Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
“The forces of the unified regional air defense system of Kazakhstan and Russia are led by a commander appointed by the Kazakh and Russian presidents upon the recommendation of defense ministers from both sides,” a committee on international affairs, defense and security said in a report.
The planned shield would be used only in times of war, while in time of peace the respective agencies together with the commander will fulfill only routine duties, a report says.
Moscow signed an agreement to set up an integrated regional air defense network with Kazakhstan last year. Russia has such a network with Belarus, while a similar deal with Armenia has been in the works for some time.

ThalesRaytheonSystems Ground Master 400 radars selected to strengthen Kazakhstan’s air defense capability
ThalesRaytheonSystems has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to supply Ground Master 400 (GM400) long-range air defense radars to the Kazakh Air Force.
The agreement was signed on May 22 at the KADEX defense exhibition in Astana, in the presence of Okas Bazargaliyevich Saparov, Kazakhstan’s Deputy Minister of Defense and the French Ambassador Francis Etienne. This MoU provides for the development of GM400 radars for the Kazakh air force by Granit Thales Electronics, a joint venture formed by Thales and SKTB Granit in 2012 under a defense-industry partnership. 20 radars are expected to come from this cooperation.

Russian Helicopters boosts Success on Kazakhstan Military Aviation Market
Russian Helicopters, a subsidiary of Oboronprom, part of State Corporation Rostec, will put a wide range of the latest civil and military helicopters on show at the Kazakhstan Defence Expo 2014 (KADEX 2014) international exhibition of weapons systems and military equipment, which will run from 22 to 25 May 2014 in Astana, Kazakhstan. Russian Helicopters can be found at stand 301, pavilion 3, with Rostec, part of Rosoboronexport, Russian Helicopters' partner in marketing military helicopters on the global market.
Kazakhstan is one of the largest operators of Russian-made helicopters in the region. The republic's armed forces, police, and rescue services operate all the main models of helicopter produced by Russian Helicopters: the military transport and search and rescue configurations of the Mi-8/17 series, the Ka-32A11BC coaxial multirole helicopter, the Mi-24V gunship helicopter and the Mi-26(T) heavy transport helicopter.Kazakhstan's helicopter operators have expressed significant interest in upcoming models - the Mi-171A2 and Mi-38. Under current contracts, Russian Helicopters is to supply Kazakhstan with Mi-8AMT, Mi-171E and other serially produced models.
At KADEX 2014, Russian Helicopters will showcase military helicopters to representatives of Kazakhstan's Interior Ministry, Emergencies Ministry, and the Armed Forces. The Ka-52 Alligator next generation combat and reconnaissance helicopter was unveiled in summer 2013 at the Le Bourget airshow, and will be one of the promising models on show. Thanks to its coaxial design, the Ka-52 boasts advanced flight capabilities and is equipped with the latest avionics. These outstanding features can be complemented by a range of high-precision weaponry and a high degree of protection for both helicopter and crew.
These features, combined with the ease of maintenance and reliability that are a trademark of Russian-made helicopters together make the Ka-52 Alligator an attractive assault helicopter for many countries around the world. Its outstanding features have assured it a place in the Russian Air Force's fleet - where it is operated in a variety of conditions, including in mountainous regions or adverse weather.Another Russian attack helicopter available on the export market is the Mi-28NE Night Hunter, built to a classic design factoring in the wealth of operational experience chalked up by the Mi- family, and also incorporating the latest aviation technology. The Mi-28NE Night Hunter is renowned for its resilience and powerful weapons systems.
The helicopter can act effectively against tanks, self-propelled artillery, armoured infantry vehicles, APCs, and military air defence units. Its on-board systems can combat low-speed and low-altitude enemy aircraft. In 2013 the Night Hunter configured for the Russian Airforce was brought into service.
