Photos from the first Italian Air Force (Aeronautica Militare) F-35A transatlantic flight

NAS Patuxent River (February 5, 2016) An Italian Air Force (Aeronautica Militare) KC-767 aerial refueling tanker lands at Naval Air Station (NAS) Patuxent River, Md., on Feb. 5. The tanker had refueled an Italian Air Force F-35A Lightning II aircraft during a two-phase, 11-hour deployment across the North Atlantic from Cameri Air Base, Italy to NAS Patuxent River. The next generation stealth F-35 jet, known as aircraft AL-1, landed in the history books as it completed the very first F-35 trans-Atlantic Ocean crossing.
