Royal Malaysian Air Force To Get 5 More Aircraft To Enhance Training At Pulatibang 1

The Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) college in Kepala Batas here will be getting five more Pilatus PC-7 Mark II type of aircraft to add to its fleet of training aircraft at the Flying Training Centre 1 (Pulatibang 1).
RMAF chief, General Tan Sri Rodzali Daud, said the five additional aircraft were for the purpose of increasing the number of instructors and trainee pilots in Pulatibang 1.He said so far the centre owned about 40 aircraft of the type Pilatus PC-7 and PC-7 Mark II which were used for training.



Rodzali said, among other aircraft used in Pulatibang 1 were the Chipmunk aircraft, Piston Provost, the Bulldog 100, Dove, Cessna 402B and the Aerotiga MD3."Over the last 50 years Pulatibang 1 has produced a total of 1,200 trainee pilots," he added.

Also present at the ceremony were the college's first commanding officer (CO) Group Captain John F. Woodard (Rtd) and former RMAF Chief Marshall (Rtd) Tan Sri Datuk Sulaiman Sujak who became the first Malaysian chief of the RMAF.Rodzali also presented the 'Pingat Jasa Malaysia' to John F. Woodard, for his contribution in setting up the RMAF training centre in 1964.
