First of Royal Air Force Airbus A400M Atlas airlifter lands at the Brize Norton air base

The Royal Air Force has officially taken delivery of the first of the 22 Airbus A400M Atlas airlifter with the aircraft landing at the Brize Norton airbase Monday.

“The MoD can confirm that the UK’s first A400M aircraft has been delivered to RAF Brize Norton to complete its acceptance process with Airbus UK, who are providing support for the UK fleet. The aircraft is being used to prepare the RAF’s flight crew training,” said an RAF spokesman.

Britain joins France and Turkey as operators of the A400M. Next in line to receive its first aircraft is Germany.Earlier in September 2014 the RAF Airbus A400M had its first maiden flight.
