India’s defence will soon be further strengthened as the world’s only supersonic cruise missile `Brahmos’ will be inducted into the Indian Air Force soon. A Sivathanu Pillai, father of the IndoRussian joint venture `BrahMos’, on Saturday said this “the war winner missile” will be inducted into the Indian Air Force, the only service remaining, very soon.
“Brahmos is the only supersonic cruise missile in the world. No other country has launched such a supersonic system in their armed forces. We today have Brahmos operational in Navy -the Naval fleet -we have then in the army-the land force -and very soon it will be with the Air Force.
So we will have tri-service operation of Brahmos. It is going to be a war winner,” Pillai, chief controller of research and development at DRDO and CEO and MD of BrahMos Aerospace, said on Saturday . Pillai was chief guest for the 12th convocation of the Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication and Technology (DAIICT). At the convocation ceremony , 8 PhD students, 47 MTech (Information and Communication Technology) students, 87 students of MSc (Information and Technolo gy),10 MSc (ICT and Agriculture and Rural Development) students, 7 Master of Design (Communication and Design) students and 220 Bachelor of Technology (ICT) students were awarded their degrees.
Falak Shah for MTech (ICT), Prachi Dikshit for MSc (IT), Jaykumar Jivani and Fenee Amrutiya for MSc (ICTARD), Palak Sanghani for MDes (CD) and Aiman Jawaid Haider for BTech (ICT) received the President’s gold medal.
