The top Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) emir of the Tabaqa Military Airport has been assassinated by unknown assailants on Tuesday evening in the western countryside of the Al-Raqqa Governorate. ISIS social media activists mourned the death of Mahmoud Ahmad Al-Kaleezi after reports of his death surfaced on Tuesday night. Not much is known about Al-Kaleezi’s personal history; however, he was identified as the Emir of Tabaqa by his peers and the terrorist group.
Al-Kaleezi is the third ISIS emir to be killed in the last 7 days. According to pro-government activists on Facebook, the ISIS emir was killed by local civilians, but this has not been proven.
