After Ship 20, the remaining Pohang of the Vietnamese Navy, Ship 18, was also installed Kh-35 Uran-E anti-ship cruise missiles.

Recently, the image of the Vietnamese Navy's 20-class Pohang submarine hunting guard ship upgraded with KT-184 launchers of Kh-35 Uran-E anti-ship cruise missiles has appeared and attracted attention. Profound mind of the international media.

After integrating the rocket for Ship 20, there were many predictions that the next time Ship 18 will be armed with this weapon because the structure of the two ships is not different, even the 18th Ship has many Free space to mount more than Ship 20.

As it is known, Ship 18 was the first Pohang to be delivered to Vietnam by the Korean side, but unlike Ship 20, its weapon configuration was reduced when there was only one 76.2 mm Oto Melara Compact cannon, 1 Dardo double barrel 40 mm cannon and  one 20 mm Sea Vulcan gun.

As expected, the image of Ship 18 after undergoing modernization can easily be seen on the ship's KT-184 launch tubes for Ships 20.

Currently the high probability that these launch tubes are mounted is only the first step that is a balance test for ships, the future will require additional fire control radars and, most importantly, integrated Kh-35 Uran-E missiles into combat management system.

It should be noted that earlier Ship 18 was added to the home-made Igla shoulder-mounted anti-aircraft missile launcher, if fully restored the submarine's hunting function by equipping it with a suitable torpedo. If so, we will have a fairly comprehensive all-rounder.

In addition to weapons, details that need to be noted on Ship 18 are also recognized as communication devices connected to satellites (English name is Communications Satellite, sometimes abbreviated as SATCOM), which is made by Vietnam. Exported with a white hood integrated in front of the chimney.

Thanks to SATCOM equipment and VinaSAT 1 satellite, along with VNREDSat-1 remote sensing satellite, the surface warships were able to transfer images directly from the ship to the headquarters and provide photos. High resolution remote sensing to report situation and get direct instructions.

Currently, the SATCOM inland equipment has been integrated into most of its surface ships by the Vietnamese Navy, from Gepard 3.9, Molniya 1241.8, Molniya 1241.RE ... to the patrol vessels of Canh. close to the sea and fishery.
