France and Australia using Al Dhafra Air Base in UAE for recon missions over Iraq


French Rafale fighter aircraft and Royal Australian Air Force F/A-18 aircraft have been spotted taking off from Al Dhafra Air Base.

The flights come after foreign ministers from some 20 countries meet in Paris to discuss the shape of a US-led international coalition.Britain has already been conducting surveillance flights, but the United States are the only country so far to strike on targets. The French and British have helped arm Kurdish resistance forces.Australia has sent in eight military aircraft and 600 personnel as part of the international coalition.
