The Sea-Based X-Band Radar-1 (SBX-1) is a fire control radar based on a seagoing semi-submersible vessel. The platform was developed by Boeing as part of the ground-based midcourse defence (GMD) component of the US Ballistic Missile Defence System (BMDS). The GMD intercepts incoming warheads.
