BAE Systems Enters Partnership with Bangkok Dock to Build Second OPV for Thai Navy






BAE Systems has entered eastablished a partnership with Thailand's state-owned naval shipbuilder Bangkok Dock to support the construction of a second modified River-class offshore patrol vessel (OPV) for the Royal Thai Navy (RTN), IHS Jane's has learnt.

The vessel will be constructed in Thailand to BAE Systems' designs, with the UK company providing Bangkok Dock with technical guidance, consultancy and other assistance, a BAE Systems official said at the Defense & Security 2015 show in Bangkok on 2 November.

Thailand purchased the River-class OPV design to support Bangkok Dock's earlier construction of HTMS Krabi , which was commissioned in August 2013.
