Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company, is expected to start the delivery of 16 S-70i Black Hawk combat utility helicopters (CUHs) for the Philippine Air Force (PAF) within third quarter of 2020 and will be completed in 2021. However, delivery may start earlier.
This update was provided by Inquirer.net’s Frances Mangosing who attended the Air Force Symposium (AFS) 2019 on June 4.
“16 Black Hawk Sikorsky S-70i helicopters will be delivered to PAF in batches starting 3rd quarter of 2020 until 2021,” Mangosing said in a Twitter post.
“A rep from Lockheed Martin said the deal was signed in April and the start of delivery may be moved earlier,” she added.
According to PAF, AFS is an annual whole day event which involves the gathering of senior leaders, defense and military officials, members of the academe, defense industry partners, air-power practitioners, and others who have a stake in the country’s defense security and development.
