Jafar Batainah, the designer of the system has said that it is intended to help military forces locate snipers by determining the direction of sound sources in the horizontal plane. He said he worked on it for 26 months without foreign technical assistance, although he had advice from his professor.KADDB gave USD5,800 to develop the project and provided high-quality German microphones. The system was displayed on the KADDB stand during the SOFEX show held in Amman on 6-8 May.
